Best Ways to Leverage Guest Blogging

By James Steele

There's something about guest blogging that makes it stand out from the rest of the promotional methods out there; it not only helps you get more exposure to your site/blog, but also helps you with your branding. It is always a good thing to learn from those who have gone before you, and we will share some things about guest posting you can benefit from, today.

Following Up Afterward: Getting a guest post published is only the first step. The idea is to connect with new readers, so be ready to communicate with anyone who responds to your post. You need to take out the time to draw your readers into your post and try to get as much favorable response from them as possible. It's important to keep an eye on the blog you've been published on, as you want to be sure to respond to any comments you get. Don't think of your post as an isolated item, but the beginning of a topic or dialogue that you began. Hopefully, readers will do some of the work for you in keeping the topic going, but you have to do your part as well. Also, take out the time to submit your blog post to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, etc so that you can get more quality readers to your post.

We do not know why everybody does not do this unless they simply do not care - evolutionary pressures at work in the business world. Another perfectly good approach is learning how to spell and write with good grammar - shocking is it not? Even the smallest error in your post will put out an unprofessional impression on the blogger and may bring down your chances of getting published. All right, enough preaching because you know what to do and why you must do it. The Value of Analyzing: When you become a guest blogger, try to gain as much from the experience as you can, as it really allows you to pick up lots of new information if you're paying attention. It's a chance to find out how targeted readers really react to what you've written and if it's made an impact on them. To get the most out of your guest post, pay attention to any noticeable results that come about from it, such as readers commenting on the post, subscribing to your feed, checking out your own blog and anything else you observe. Remember that you can also pick up valuable information when you don't get the outcome you expected; go back to the drawing board and plan a new strategy. If you get into the habit of looking over your results in this analytical way, none of your efforts will be wasted, as you'll always be learning something new about blogging. These same tools are used by people in MLM Marketing

If you are new and a totally unknown quantity, then do not expect ultra-popular sites and blogs to want to publish your content. However anything is possible, and if you are an exceptional writer then they may be interested. You could even write something controversial that could generate a lot of reader interaction, etc. Do all you can to really impress everybody, and that includes staying away from article directories when you research your post.

We feel most IM marketers do not fully appreciate the power and potential that lies in guest blogging.
